Want To Know Who's Hiring Right Now? Here's How To Find Them.
Read on my website / Read time: 3 minutes
You're applying for jobs, but it feels like you’re always late to the party. By the time you see a posting, it already has hundreds of applicants.
Meanwhile, you're wondering: Where the hell are these "hidden" roles people keep talking about?
Here's where: ***Hiring managers and recruiters post open jobs on LinkedIn before they hit the job boards OR sometimes instead of it.
But most job seekers don’t know how to find these posts...
Read on, dear friend. I'll show you the why and how to being first in the applicant line.
Why This Matters
Getting in early matters.
Applying within the first 24–48 hours can seriously increase your chances of being seen before the floodgates open.
Even better?
When you respond directly to the person who posted the job, you bypass the black hole of online applications.
Here's How
Here’s a smarter, faster way to find hiring managers who are actively posting roles, today:
Step 1: Go to the LinkedIn search bar and type:
👉 [Target Job Title] + Hiring + Remote (or add your location)
Example: “Instructional Designer + Hiring + Remote”
Step 2: Hit search, then filter the results:
-
Click “Posts”
-
Then choose “Past 24 hours”
You’ll now see only recent posts mentioning hiring for your target job.
Want to take it up a notch?
Step 3: Click “All Filters”
-
Under Author Company, enter your dream companies
-
Hit “Show Results”
Now you're seeing only posts about open jobs at companies you're excited about...shared by the people doing the hiring.
Step 4: Found a post that fits?
-
Apply directly (if there’s a link)
-
Then send a quickDM to the person who posted: something friendly, professional, and clear about your interest.
-
BE SPECIFIC about why you're a good fit.
-
Literally, ~three bullet points that say, "you need [____], I did/am/can [____]."
This combo of applying early + DM follow-up is elevated applying.
TL;DR
-
You don’t have to wait for job boards to show you opportunities.
-
Hiring managers often post roles before they’re officially listed.
-
Use LinkedIn’s search filters to find these posts within 24 hours.
-
